MMA World Academy App Privacy Policy

MMA World Academy respects your privacy. This policy explains how the MMA World Academy mobile app (the “App”) handles information.

Information stored on your device

You may choose to save a first or preferred name, a profile photo, and a membership barcode in the App. You may also save favourite classes, appearance settings, reminder preferences, local notification identifiers, and a cached copy of the public class schedule.

This information is stored locally on your device. The profile and membership barcode use secure device storage. MMA World Academy does not receive your locally stored profile, photo, membership barcode, favourites, reminders, or calendar events through this version of the App.

Permissions

The App requests access only when you use the related feature:

• Camera: to scan a gym-issued membership barcode. The App does not save camera images or video.
• Photos: to let you choose a local profile photo.
• Calendar: to add a class you select to your device calendar.
• Notifications: to schedule class reminders on your device.

You can deny or later change these permissions in your device settings. Core schedule, instructor, and contact information remains available without granting these permissions.

App updates and limited technical information

The App uses Expo Application Services (EAS) Update to securely check for and deliver software updates. When the App checks for an update, Expo may process limited technical information such as your device operating system, the App's project identifier, a randomized installation token used to determine whether an installation requested or downloaded an update, your IP address, update interactions, and limited error or performance information.

This technical information is used to provide, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve the update service. It is not used by MMA World Academy for advertising or to track you across apps or websites. Expo states that EAS Update requests do not contain identifying information such as unique hardware device identifiers. Expo acts as a service provider for update delivery. No advertising, sale, or cross-app tracking

The App contains no advertising SDK, third-party advertising, or cross-app tracking. MMA World Academy does not sell the locally stored information described above.

External services and links

The App can open Apple Maps, your phone or email app, the MMA World Academy website, and official social-media pages. Those services operate outside the App and are governed by their own privacy policies. Information you choose to send through those services is handled by the service you open.

Retention and deletion

Locally stored App information remains on your device until you remove it, use “Delete locally stored app data” on the Profile screen, or erase it through device controls. The App also lets you remove a saved membership barcode separately from the Check In screen.

Expo retains information processed through its services according to its privacy policy and legal obligations. MMA World Academy may receive aggregated project or update statistics that do not contain the profile or membership barcode stored in the App.

Children's privacy

The App lists classes for adults and children, but it does not create child accounts or knowingly collect children's names, photos, or membership barcodes from the device. A parent or guardian should supervise a child's use of optional profile and barcode features.

Security

The App uses platform secure storage for the local profile and membership barcode and HTTPS for update delivery. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but the App is designed to minimize off-device processing of member information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App or its data practices change. We will post the revised policy at the same public URL and update the effective date. App Store privacy disclosures will also be updated when required.
